The last showcase showdown!
This is it, boys and gals! We need your votes now more than ever! The end is nearing and after this weekend the votes will be tallied! Help bring "That Asian Thing" to Tribeca! Here's your last minute details:
UPDATE: With this weekend left in online viewing and voting for "That Asian Thing"
(http://www.thatasianthing.com) - we've only registered about 150 votes. We only have till Monday, June 30th to show'em what we got. Please help raise the bar on indie filmmaking, Asian-American awareness, and recognition for all of the artists involved with this project. A couple of notes:
-YOU DON'T HAVE TO WATCH TO VOTE (but you'll be better for it). If you don't have time, if you've experienced problems with the Lycos website, or if you're not even interested - we still appreciate your vote! It'll probably take 7.8 minutes out of your day to simply go to the website, register a username, and click on the amount of stars underneath the title page to get your vote in. That's it! You don't need to pay, you'll get no spam, and you'll be a rockstar in my book!
-HOW DO I VOTE? Like I said - register with a valid email address thru the SIGN IN at http://cinema.lycos.com/movies/that_asian_thing , confirm thru automated email, then log in. Look for "That Asian Thing" and then click on the stars located underneath the title. You'll know you voted when it shows you how many other votes are locked in.
-I REALLY WANNA WATCH THE FLICK BUT IT'S NOT WORKING - just be sure to get your vote in and if we can blow it up at Tribeca, hopefully we can get some recognition to get some screenings going. Also read the previous posts for some troubleshooting options.
Otherwise, thank you to everyone that's been very supportive and has helped to spread the word! All of you rock, hardcore, and I thank y'all!

YouTube vid and 2 weeks left!
A couple of quick notes:
1. OH SNAP! LOOK WHO'S BACK! As "That Asian Thing" focused on many different Asian-American artists, it took another step by following the storyline of an R&B singing group named Flipside (later known as SOTO). Well through the advancement of online videos via Youtube, Flipside had a small singing get together. Check out this video of a medley of ol'school hits:
-OR-
Go to the video on youtube via the link and leave them a comment. All these artists need support, so good words are great! Do it here:

2. We're now down to 2 weeks of voting! Please check the previous posts to learn how to watch "That Asian Thing" online and vote for the movie to take part in the Independent Features Film Festival in New York. The top 21 vote-getters will be screened at the Tribeca theaters. The numero uno top vote receiver will get the complete red carpet treatment with an after party. If you're interested in tickets, visit the Independent Features website on how to buy - http://www.independentfeatures.com . This is great for the future of online film viewing, indie filmmaking, and the Asian-American artists involved. If you've already voted - tell your friends! We need everyone to know!
And those were your couple of notes. Thanks!

A FEW TROUBLE SHOOTING QUESTIONS:
We have heard a lot of the numerous problems with watching the film online. I apologize as we have no technical control over this. This is why we say YOU CAN VOTE WITHOUT WATCHING! Otherwise, I suggest trying a couple of options if you're giddy to watch.
1. Try logging in through the Independent Features Film Festival website:
http://www.independentfeatures.com
Then look for the flick under View Films & Documentaries. The films are in alphabetical order. You'll be whisked away to the Lycos Cinema site, to which you'll have to log in again. But I've heard this works, so try it.
2. Try watching at a different time. I've heard people get the "No Remote Control" message or simply can't view. Either someone else is watching or the site is acting el wacko as it usually does. Just try again or try logging in with a different email address. In this day and age, people usually have like 2 or 3. Make use of it, eh?
3. Make sure you have the latest Adobe Flash kickin in your cpu system. If you no comprendo, then check out the Adobe website'oh:
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
I hope these options help!
PROMO PEEPS:
An extra syrupy high-five to all the people that have been extra plugging the flick, especially Apple on Facebook, friends & family on myspace/facebook, Robbi on myspace, J Vita thru Tinbox, Steve Munoz, Cynthia Lin, and anyone else that I didn't catch from my own web surfing. Thanks everyone! Let's keep kickin it up a notch!
Our friends at the podcast, Paunch Stevenson Show gave us a plug in Episode 102. First - congrats on the 100th show guys! Also - thank you for supporting my (Jonald Reyes) work. Really do appreciate it. Listen to these dudes, would ya:
http://paunchstevenson.com/2008/05/21/episode-102/
Next, from the magical world of myspace, we were able to get a plug on the Daily section of Asiance Magazine. Check it out:
http://asiancemagazine.com/news/2008/05/24/that_asian_thing
With that, I (Jonald) was given the super cool opportunity to write about the Asian-American male in American society. Please read my article:
http://asiancemagazine.com/jun_2008/the_asian_american_man_speaks
Thank you to Jaymie for all the help and exposure! Hopefully I can make another cameo in the future.
Alright kiddies - this is all the candy we have for today. Please get those votes in and tell your friends to do the same. Have a happy day and keep it cool...
